The IDA San Diego Branch attracts and provides professional expertise that supports parents, teachers, students, and others who are affected by dyslexia. The Branch raises awareness about dyslexia, offers training and technical assistance to the community, and makes appropriate service referrals. The Branch also serves as a point of connectivity that creates greater support for those who are affected by learning challenges.

IDA San Diego maintains an Information and Referral Line where people can telephone for referrals to professionals who do educational assessments, tutoring, and other services that a person with dyslexia might require. This list needs more tutors with multi-sensory training, educational therapists, physicians, psychologists, advocates etc. from all parts of the country.
